Spirited Away

To me this film is something I had put off seeing for a while. Because I just never got around to it, but I’d always wanted to…. until now. However, it felt so strange…. but familiar? I’m not able to describe the emotions this evoked in me. My favorite part about this was the character design! I loved all the little unique spirt creature things, like the little bouncy head things, or how they all had those little funny mustaches. I could ramble on about all that, but I’ll conclude this observation by saying: as an animation enthusiast and someone who loves drawing characters, this appeared to be one of the pinnacles of what inspiration can be. As I did of course, like the story, it was really just every little detail that felt woven together into a giant knot. Spirited Away truly is one of the most distinctive animated films I’ve ever laid my eyes upon.
