tired of the hate on this one.. phenomenal acting and humor but still gritty ‘scary real’ prior to the reveal.  1. calling out the logistics of religion/power, mostly after the shock therapy scene.. 2. when the twist happens it is so obviously ridiculous and i think that’s the point in the production design and costumes. showing u this is what is expected: some magical land where cotton candy hair people talk to each other & 3. it’s rly just that evil ceo & capitalism that killed ur whole family and drove you mad. there is no alien god here and that’s scarier!!!!  4. the side plot w the old babysitter turned cop was intentional.  5. he was so focused on his conspiracy and his discoveries that he ignored don’s suicidal ideation that seems to be worsened by the injections. after don’s fate i was so heartbroken bc i saw the signs and saw them ignored.  among other things that are ignored after an ending that was meant to be not serious like that  reconsider bc this movie was snubbed
