Arrival

i know this is like the entire point of the story but it’s really impressive how on the rewatch you are understanding the plot like louise and the heptapods!!  i also really love how they use the aliens and sci of it all as a device to explore and leverage simple base emotions of love and loss and hope and understanding. aliens! life is sad but worth living! everything i could say about this movie feels small!!  anyways such an impressively paced and scored and visually remarkable movie. amy adams is obviously impeccable in this and jeremy renner gives a really solid performance aside from the one mcu ass “uh so that just happened” line of dialogue. thank you alamo drafthouse for letting me watch this on a very large screen
