Lawless
Shia is the goat. Don't care if you think its glaze the movies I've watched with him in it are fabulous. He's actually my favorite actor now, this movie is absolutely fantastic. His emotional range is actually insane, the fact he starts this movie out as a wuss is incredible. My Thoughts at the bottom so if you want to scroll down you can.
Plot (9.3/10)
Its about these 3 brothers, Jack, Forrest and Howard Bondurant. Jack (Shia LaBeouf) is pretty much the runt of the litter who has his brothers fight for him his whole life but is the smartest, then there's Howard (Jason Clarke) whos basically a tank of a man but not much upstairs. Forrest (Tom Hardy) is basically a living legend who has survived so much everyone believes he is immortal. Anyways the 3 of them have been selling moonshine for the past couple years just trying to make a living, even selling to the sheriffs. In comes this big city special agent Charley Rakes (Guy Pearce) who is suppose to just look for moonshine sellers and arrest them but he goes way to far and starts killing. So all the local moonshine sellers stop because of the new agents killings, but the Bondurant's stand there ground.
Filming/Style (8.8/10)
Could have been better. Its not like it was bad I actually really enjoyed most of the filming, just some of the scenes of the bar felt kind of low budget for some reason. At least that's what I felt, probably wasn't that bad but that's the vibe I was getting. They nailed all of the action scenes especially the end fight. Style was actually just the small town western vibe which was honestly so nice to see.
Characters/Acting (9.3/10)
Jack and Forrest easily the best characters in this movie. Forrest didn't really say half as much as jack but he was just a legend he didn't really have too. The way he just carried himself was sick, I haven't seen that much of Tom Hardy and he was phenomenal. Jack on the other hand was so different in almost everyway most of the movie. He carried himself with basically no direction and such weak sad presence until he finds direction. Which as soon as that happens like that scene is probably the best scene in the movie. Jack becomes almost a different human once he starts putting his life together, actually sick. He starts separating himself from his brothers in having a smarter, less violent approach to all of it. Acting wise both Shia LeBeouf and Tom Hardy are on a different level in this movie. Toms stone cold movement in this compared to Shias sort of emotional fast paced vibe is such an Intriguing thing to watch. Both fantastic acting throughout this movie. Emotionally this is the best I've Shia or anyone act when it comes to sadness and anger.
My Thoughts
100% recommend this movie to anyone ready for some emotion and violence. Some of the best acting I've seen in any movie period. Gets pretty intense which is cool for some people I really enjoyed it. Highly recommend
