Blade Runner
Everything about this movie is just so nicely done, from the futuristic, late-stage capitalist society slowly being built up, to the characters yearning beautifully and poetically for life.
One of the best “antagonists” I have ever seen. I wouldn’t even consider him a villain. I mean, he’s as human as it gets, his biggest fear is simply death and i think most people can relate to that. And his final monologue was wonderful.
I can understand why some people may dislike the slow pacing in the first half, but I think it makes up for that with the stunning visuals, sets, and lighting. On top of that, you also have a great soundtrack and score that really help immerse you in this world.
It just makes me want to buy a long coat and contemplate mortality in neon rain while eating noodles.
