Ahsoka
Episode 1 review
So in the original movies, they spend to fucking long to create this planet sized weapon that can destroy a planet. In this episode, there are droids with fist sized bombs, that can blow up an entire city?? wtf
Anyway, the CGI looks alright at times, but ends up looking like something out of clone wars (some shots look good tho). That, along with mostly boring af shots, gives this a boring ass look.
The dialogue is also pretty cringe at times, and feels mostly forced. It doesn't feel natural, but I guess it's fine- it's another world.
Something about the makeup looks off as well. Don't get me wrong, it's really well made, but there's just something off, and I can't figure out what.
Also, stop doing these annoying coincidences! Oh, a sith and jedi can open locks and high tech handcuffs, but not a device to a location? I mean sure, it may be force locked, but why isn't everything then?
It also focuses way too much on literally the worst star wars content, Rebels. I do not give a flying fuck about Rebels, and I have never been able to watch more than 2 episodes. I don't know anything about some of these characters, and I'm tired of big studios like MARVEL and Star Wars depending on their previous works to succeed or drive a story. I didn't watch Wandavision, and now I can't understand everything in Doctor Stranger: Multiverse of Madness? That's pretty fucking annoying. It's the same issue with this first episode, it just focuses way to much on stuff I don't know anything about.
There's just something missing in this, and I think it's the magic of Star Wars. At least the magic from the original movies. This just feels so bland. It's sad.
This episode is also very dumb at times. I won't say anything, but jesus.
I know I've only shit on this first episode, but it's not all that terrible. Just a disappointment, which is all Star Wars has been lately. Fight scenes are still fun, especially the last, and it is Star Wars, and Star Wars is just cool. The story is simple, easy to follow, but still entertaining. I think I just expected more from this first episode.
