Sing Sing

I have now been working in a jail as a counselor for several months and that has just made this hit even harder. The death of Mike Mike hit extra hard. Recently had an inmate die and it is so sad how quickly death can happen, but also how desensitized inmates are to it. It is way too often viewed as an inevitability for those caught in the cycle of our criminal justice system. I constantly hear inmates talk about how they are probably gonna die in the streets and that there is nothing they can do to escape it. Truly powerful film, need more media that shows that just because someone commits a crime does not mean they are no longer humans deserving compassion
