Arrival
Masterpiece to be honest. The visuals are stunning, an original film is always so refreshing. Denis Villeneuve is definitely an all time great from this to dune his constant range to perform particularly in sci fi is second to none. I do believe if he completes the dune trilogy to the same level of the previous 2 films he will be regarded as the greatest sci fi director of all time. The overall emotion put into this film is reflected to the audience and on top of that it looks amazing. One thing that i find particularly interesting is how you can instantly recognise a film from the 2016/17 time period with a darker more intense style whilst creating multiple moments of silence that say so much and add so much tension. This film is just great, it explores so many themes, human themes whilst maintaining the external element the focus without it becoming a messy attempt to deliver a message. Great film.
