Frankenstein
i seen #Frankenstein in cinema for the second time today. I haven’t stopped thinking about this line from the creature at the end of the film, “Rest now father, perhaps now we can both be human.” this was what i was longing for when i finished reading Mary Shelley’s novel. It’s positioned both Victor and the Creature so beautifully beside each other at the end of their journeys. They’ve forgiven not only each other but themselves in their roles as a man playing God and the monster he created. In their forgiveness, in Victors long awaited death (something god himself cannot experience) and the creatures new founded want to live (something humans strive for everyday), they’re both able to move past their shame, agony and rage to truly be human in life and death together.
