Stalker
Tarkovsky, alongside Terrence Malick, is the philosopher's filmmaker. I don't think I can fully understand this film with just one viewing, and I am sure everyone comes away from this hauntingly bleak experience with a different philosophical takeaway. Tarkovsky seems, at least to me, to unconsciously employ Kierkegaardian and Nietzschean motifs of "despair," nihilism, and absurdity and takes his freaking time while displaying them.
