Sinners
Sinners had the potential to be an incredible movie, with a potent message, great cinematography and an incredible score, it felt like a 5/5 in the making. However I think Sinners executed its message poorly, allowing simple viewpoints; this is a result of a complex idea, joined by characters who felt somewhat underdeveloped. What could’ve been even more of a commentary on culture and transcendence of human identity past time and race, ended up feeling like it was 75% of the way there.
Chalamet deserved the Oscar.
