Sunset Boulevard
first screening of the semester!
while it was an exciting night and we were happy to be back, i know many of our hearts were heavy
a guy at the screening asked if we showed this for david lynch and i learned it was one of his favorite movies
while, no, i cannot say we took out david lynch to promote this event, fate works in funny ways
i won’t pretend like ive loved his work all along. or that i haven’t taken every opportunity to keep his movies from being shown when brought up in voting. which has been practically every meeting. i mean, it’s pretty much a running bit i do at this point. but the sheer fact that himself and his films have taken up about 20% of the conversations in our org, including just a couple days ago, makes me very saddened by this news. he’s an undeniable legend and i know he’ll continue to be a part of many of our conversations long after his lifetime. while im not running to see his movies just yet (my dreams are simply too vivid as is without more nightmare fuel), im happy to have revisited a mutual favorite with him in our thoughts. rip to a hell of a guy.
and even though in the past ive tried to play mom, since most of his movies have a parents guide from hell, it’s time i stop standing in the way of what the people want. tribute screening coming soon for sure.
it’s just the beginning of a STACKED semester
