AnoraGera Rusch10.0· December 24, 2024FollowIf I Get Married To An American, I Wouldn't Need To Go Back To Russia. One of the best movie that I've seen this year. A very interesting plot that keeps the tension of the entire timing, and in general there are not so many clichés here, which makes Anora very watchable. At some moments, I even wanted to stop and disassemble the scenes, as they were filmed / staged. The visual-technical part and installation are very cool: a live camera, a measured tempo-rhythm, and other artistic techniques that help to immerse yourself in this atmosphere. Plot: it is interesting that in the beginning it seems that Vanya is just the main character and why even call the film "some kind of Anora", and it's cool how we get together with Vanya to the main character (Anora) in the strip. Anora behaves self-sufficient throughout the film and shows that, for example, she doesn’t really need some Vanya. She is strong and independent. Anora loved Vanya very much and fought for this relationship to the end, without even giving the ring, but Vanya considered all this entertainment for a week and did not see anything in it. There were several moments when Anora broke down, and each of these moments is good in her own way. Separate from I would like to say about the Russian language in the film: it is made well, understandable, and appropriate. Thanks Sean Baker for it. One of the worst works with when the film has two languages where the second language is Russian, you can call John Wick, because there is no idea what the actors say in Russian. And in this film, the actors themselves know Russian and use it as it should. There is no "make-up" of Russians and some stereotypes, this is the language with which Sean Baker reveals the characters and shows their character.CommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the appSee all Gera's reviews for Anora (8)First watch10.0December 24, 2024Rewatch 110.0January 21, 2025Rewatch 210.0January 30, 2025Rewatch 310.0February 3, 2025Rewatch 410.0May 14, 2025Rewatch 510.0June 27, 2025Rewatch 610.0August 22, 2025Rewatch 710.0December 15, 2025
