Inglourious Basterds
"I have a message for Germany. That you are all going to die, and I want you to look deep into the face of the Jew that is going to do it! Marcel... burn it down."
This might be Quentin Tarentino's masterpiece. Actually, this IS Quentin Tarentino's masterpiece.
H*tler, if you saw The Great Dictator, you're going to want to see this, oh I forgot... you're dead.
(Noting that The Great Dictator is a great film)
Who let me think this film was too overrated? I mean, it is but for a VERY good reason. Tarentino creates his films with angry but devoted passion, if he's going to make a film, he's going to make a classic. This is the first Tarentino film I've seen but I can tell that I'm missing out on A LOT.
Brad Pitt playing Aldo Raine with his strange but iconic american accent. Christopher Waltz embodying Hans Landa, a terrible person but played with astonishing acting. Both of them didn't act in a nazi/world war II film, they envisioned themselves as if they were actually alive in a vision of the time. Sure, this wasn't lore accurate WWII but I sure wish it did. How would people in the present like to know that one of the worst people who ever lived in history, (A.H) died the way he did in this film. Many would say he deserved it, (which he does and did) But in a way that karma comes back to you? Would sound pretty nice right?
I guess some TINY THINGS I didn't like about this film is that it was really dialogue driven, not much action and the Basterds aren't in half the film but fuck it. In a hundred years time, Inglorious Basterds, will be considered a generational masterpiece, a flashback to WWII and how things were sad in that time.
Now, in summary, Inglorious Basterds is a masterpiece, WWII was a terrible era in history. Rest in peace to everyone who suffered during the holocaust. Rest in peace, Shoshanna.
Oh, and Rest in Hell, A.H
(If I said some things wrong, please don't think of it as insulting, I'm not great with my words just yet.)
