god its amazing. paul mescal and jessie buckley feel so real, they dont just feel like someone who could be living with us but they feel like theyre touching your soul. watching jessie during ‘in the nature of daylight’ simply rips your heart out. paul does the same with his ‘to be or not to be’. zhao’s direction really sticks out to me, every shot looks ethereal and comforting. every piece of dialogue is emotionally compelling. jacobi jupe is amazing and when they finally make an award for child actors he deserves it (no matter what age he is then). beautiful, tragic, moving. this is the kind of film id put an emotional quote from but there is simply too many to pick from.
