rewatching this inspired a rant which is expressed below:
it's so hard not to feel pressure to have a passion and gain success from it let alone partaking in said passion without losing yourself to it or ruining it for yourself. i was talking with my friend the other day about how we're sort of made to feel "unproductive" when we spend our free time doing things that aren't socially seen as beneficial (aka. watching tv/movies, sleeping, shopping, scrolling...). and i get that in excess these things can be negative but.. so can anything in excess - hence the people who lose themselves in the movie if u see where i'm going with this. anyways.. i always find myself feeling guilty when i'm spending my free time doing things that aren't working out or reading things to learn or practicing a new language or learning an instrument but this movie really just reminds us all that the whole point of living are the little things and the little joys and i LOVE laying down guys. i love it. i love binge watching tv or movies and then making my friends watch them with me. i love sitting around with my friends and watching tik toks.. or listening to music.. and occassionally speaking bc we both obviously just need to be thoughtless robots for a few minutes. and i love starting hobbies and then quitting them and coming back to them months later and remembering how excited i was to do said hobby for a few days.
this movie is beautiful. i really love it. it resonates very deeply with me. and i love tina fey. that is all.
