Interstellar
First time rewatching since middle school, and this still bangs.
It’s awesome on rewatch to see how much it pays homage to 2001 a space odyssey, and how well it gets utilized in the movie.
The use of both sound and the score were awesome at creating emotion, scale, and tension.
I think this is Nolan’s best work due to how well it centers around certain key relationships. He took the big abstract ideas of 2001 space odyssey and made an overwhelmingly emotional movie about a father and daughter. The best part is that there’s also a ton of sci-fi type commentary and subtext, but that it all flows and feels so natural.
This is such a good gateway movie to other great sci-fi movies
