Hereditary
Last night when I watched this I felt so conflicted about the ending and couldn’t look back at the movie through the new perspective the movie gave me for some reason so I was unable to give a rating or review + I was very very tired
I’m glad I rewatched it again this morning because it was so worth it
This is a very anxiety inducing slow burn and scary movie with the help of the sounds, music, and dark eerie atmosphere
This is about grief, generational trauma, mental illness, and how you can not escape your heritage
During both first watch and rewatch I could barely breathe and my heart rate was so high during some scenes and that’s probably my favorite thing about this because it succeeds at what it wants to do which is actually make you scared and unsettled
It would be a crime to not mention the performances Toni Collette was absolutely phenomenal accompanied by Alex Wolff who was also amazing
This was very well made and the direction from Ari Aster is top notch
