Watched at home for the first time, and this is my third time seeing it overall. I don’t have an incredible TV or soundsystem, and this film still looked and sounded like a Best Picture. I’m just mesmerized from start to finish every time I watch it. Obviously Blanchett is brilliant, but on each rewatch, the surrounding cast and characters get more impressive.
Do I think this film will win Best Picture? Outside chance, as I think EEAAO will win (and maybe should and I’d be happy with it winning), but it’s so captivating and what the script, sound, performances, visuals do for the 2 and a half hours is just incredible stuff.
