Richard Linklater has had an excellent year with both this and Nouvelle Vague which were both movies about the nature of art and also have a very sincere charm to them. Ethan Hawke is unrecognizable in this role and this is one of the tightest scripts of the year. Short Ethan Hawke was so cursed.
