Chainsaw Man

so i tried watching this a while ago, made it 2.5 episodes in before dropping in and proceeding to shit on it for years. after seeing the immense praise for the movie associated with it that just came out, i figured id give it another shot. what a fantastic decision that was 😊 literally every single thing about this is amazing !! i was surprised with how solid the emotional beats were and all the quiet calm slice of life moments. i perceived this as some completely off the rails action bodyhorror packed shonen slop but i was totally wrong. it does have that aswell but its top of the line for what its doing. i really fuck with the world building and the ways abilities are handled in this. theres sooo much potential and it sounds like it really does reach some insane highs later on down in the manga. i might have to start reading this one ! the only real complaint is that Power is pretty goddamn annoying, i always hate characters like that and she’s definitely not one of the worst ones out there but its still bad enough to knock a half star off. corny asf also it goes without saying for mappa but this show is really really pretty and well animated, makes the grotesque stuff more effective which is cool
