Friendly Rivalry

a gl kdrama is fire and i hope they make more since this was pretty successful !! acting wise this was great as always from korea, and the visuals were solid aswell! some fun and well executed underwater imagery/some drugged out hallucination stuff.  the story was kinda messy tho. it was pretty repetitive and a lot of the characters motivations and a good chuck of the story developments felt unnatural and weird. idk it just fell into the trap that a lot of thrillers do where everything just happens out of convenience. most of that all stems from the characters being weak at times and not getting developed properly. those back to back opening flashback monologues were NOT ENOUGH 🤦‍♀️ such lazy storytelling. the ending got a bit wonky too and this definitely shoulda been wrapped up more neatly IMO. they might have left it open ended for a season 2 but they didn’t really set enough up for that to actually be good without throwing out some random forced new problem for the characters
