Backrooms

"All these rooms. This place builds them. Actually more like it, remembers them. And the more times it remembers something, the less it does." This quote from the film perfectly sums up the essence of the Backrooms. It's an anomaly, an incomprehensible phenomenon, an unreality. It can't be fully explored or understood as there's always more it has to offer. I personally believe that the Backrooms has the ability to embed itself into the psyche of the people who enter it, and that's why it makes these disjointed recreations of everyday spaces. It's working with the perception of objects and places which is why it never truly gets things right. Managed to catch a viewing in theatre for it and left feeling dazed and uneasy in the best way.
