Jane Eyre
I liked this more than I thought I would. Before watching this I'd been considering which version of Jane Eyre would be best to watch since there were differing opinions on this and a few other versions. I settled for this one and I'm glad I did so.
It's not entirely accurate to the book, it does skim over Jane's upbringing and her time with St John but it captures the romance between Jane and Mr Rochester perfectly. Their banter and development were particularly delightful. Surprisingly they had quite a bit of sexual tension going on ( not that I'm complaining)
Jane as a character was level-headed and resilient despite all the hardships she went through and that made it all the more impactful when she expressed her emotions. Mr Rochester did make major mistakes in his judgement but he was sincere in his repentance and love for Jane and that unfortunately did make me root for him (Bertha definitely was a victim tho)
I did find the editing and camerawork to be a bit clunky but it did help in setting the gothic atmosphere this story is known for.
I had an enjoyable viewing experience with this and I would recommend people to watch this
