Pride and Prejudice

The 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice has been a comfort film of mine for most of my life and recently I wanted to give this version a chance since a lot of people prefer this one to the 2005 version. This version provides more time to get to know the characters which I appreciate, it's definitely more accurate to the time period and it's nuanced with the development between Lizzy and Darcy. The way Darcy expresses himself around Lizzy, especially in the later episodes is quite swoonworthy and I also appreciated the sisterly bond between Lizzy and Jane explored in greater depth. It does drag a bit at times and Mrs Bennet's character annoyed me a lot but all in all its a solid adaptation and I can see why people love it so much. While the 2005 version will continue to be my favourite this one was quite a delight to watch.
