Babylon
absolutely underrated wtf. that was the fastest 3 hrs of my life n not one second of it bored me. it was genuinely such an experience i fucking love it.
its the evolution of cinema, from silent films to talkies, ambition n music. i rlly love how they show us the way the industry evolved, from 'pictures' to where we r now in the present. it lets us experience the growing pains of cinema, the frustration, mistakes, reinvention. it shows us how far cinema has come.
the film romanticizes holywood, but at the same time condemning it. the industry doesnt only evolve but also discards ppl along the way. theres something tragic abt watching talented movie stars being thrown away once theyre obsolete. fame is temporary n can easily be replaced, which i think is harsh but true.
margot robbie's performance was incredibly outstanding i literally forgot she was acting. the 'single tear' part was actually insane for her to be able to pull, literally insane.
