Fantine you deserved so much better. This movie shows how society lacks empathy. We idolize Fantine but then shame actual prostitutes. We only do so because we see her entire story. If we could see the life of every single person, we would be a much better society. Most prostitutes don't do this because they are lazy, what kind of person wants an icky dirty guy to have sex with them. It is often a last resort when desperation becomes too much.  .
