got the recommendation to watch this one from a review of queens at heart. hard to swallow at the beginning, you can see how uncomfortable jennifer is being full name deadnamed and misgendered by rocco. her responses are so elegant and do even more to shut her interviewer down than the likes of the women in queens at heart. you can see how much has changed for trans people in only a few years of queer history, and how little has changed about society’s attitudes toward them. it is a subtle yet deeply important distinction between the two short films. the last 6 minutes are pure, celebratory magic. the likes of which i’ve never seen in a movie this old. if you think lsd is a trip, you should try taking hormones!
