***Preparing for [the Michael Jackson biopic](https://letterboxd.com/film/michael-2026/): III*** ***"Land of the free, home of the weird."*** I couldn't possibly answer any of your questions about this film. What the fuck is happening? Why is it happening? Why could [Joe Pesci](https://letterboxd.com/actor/joe-pesci/) pick up a signal with his shit trim? Why is there a Mecha-Jackson? And why does he turn into a fucking spaceship? I can't describe the bizarre shit that goes on in this film. It's probably just as absurd as [Yellow Submarine](https://letterboxd.com/film/yellow-submarine/). Shit just happens. Your inquiries will not be addressed. But at least it was somewhat enjoyable. Eh.

***"Don't you know that a man being rich is like a girl being pretty? You wouldn't marry a girl just because she's pretty, but my goodness, doesn't it help?"*** I thought it was a bright idea to watch a musical at 2 in the morning. Between this film and [The Band Wagon](https://letterboxd.com/film/the-band-wagon/), I ultimately chose to watch Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The film was a lot of fun, despite having only a few songs, each of which was catchy and unique in its own way. This is the first film I’ve seen starring the famous [Marilyn Monroe](https://letterboxd.com/actor/marilyn-monroe/), and I must say, she was fantastic, especially during the musical numbers. Overall, it was a good film and definitely worth choosing over a good night’s sleep. Yes, I wrote this at 3:30 AM, and yes, I’m exhausted. Recommended.
