Mysterious Skin

Watched this twice within a week of watching it the first time if that tells you anything about where I’m at lmao.  This whole movie feels like an ethereal dream, much like how Brian lives out his trauma entirely in his dreams and how so many of us block out this trauma so deeply that it doesn’t even feel like our reality. Just a distant, alien force controlling our every thought and move. Then, when it finally forces its way into our conscious mind, we bleed. And bleed and bleed and bleed.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s best role.
