Bugonia
blown away.
21st century hysteria flawlessly illustrated on the silver screen.
inherently i was expecting emma stone, to be the heartbeat of this film, and she was to an extent, but i was wrong in that assessment. jesse plemons shines in this thing, in all of its excruciating lunacy. his performance elevated this film to a level that yorgos could have only dreamed of, but i guess thats why you hire jesse MF plemons for a role like this. watching stone and plemons, was literally like watching gods spar, amazing stuff.
this pretty easily marks my favourite of yorgos’ exemplary filmography, and i hope this duo and now trio of stone, plemons, and lanthimos never breaks up.
i was hoping yorgos would go there, and he did.. a masterfully executed ending (and a ballsy one at that) to a phenomenal film.
