Loki
I liked Loki. I really did. But getting into it was… a struggle.
The first two episodes felt really slow. A lot of explaining, a lot of talking, and not enough happening to make me instantly care. It’s one of those shows where the idea is interesting, but it takes a while for the story to catch up to that idea.
And the concept is great — the whole time, variants, and identity crisis angle are genuinely cool. There were just a few pacing choices and story decisions that didn’t really match, which made the beginning feel more like something I had to push through than something I was excited to watch. The reason I didn’t drop it?
Tom Hiddleston.
He Loki carried the show for me (see what i did there heh). The way he plays funny, arrogant, vulnerable, and weirdly sad all at the same time is what kept me watching.
Hm: The hairflips are iconic.
Slow start, a few personal nitpicks. I didn’t really feel like Loki needed a romantic partner. When Sylvie showed up, I genuinely thought they were going for sibling energy, not romance. That choice just didn’t fully land for me. Still, a brilliant concept, an amazing performance, and a soundtrack that carries the mood perfectly. I just had to work a little to get there.
I was expecting a Thor cameo.💔
