There’s something about this movie that hits too close to home— way too close. Disney got more varieties of expressing emotions and topics to cover now, this movie just feels like watching a dream.
Encanto (2021) is not exactly a movie that is made for a younger audience. It is generated for us, the ones who are now fighting their way out of our generational trauma and heavy family expectations. That’s why it hits us a little too much.
Lastly, Lin-Manuel Miranda did amazing on the scores as well, you would catch me lip-syncing to all of the songs throughout the movie 24/7.
