Let's face it: 2016 really wasn't the best year for movies so far. We had some truly great indie flicks, but looking at films with a slightly bigger budget, it wasn't "the yellow from the egg", how we Germans like to phrase it. Until now. Because here comes Denis Villeneuve with his new movie, and it is this kind of movie. The kind of movie you should watch without knowing anything. The kind of movie that lets you sink into your seat for the whole time. The kind of movie that lets you forget everything around you, that cannot be disturbed by the guy looking at his smartphone on the left or the woman constantly giving comments about every scene on the right. The kind of movie that lets you watch the end credits completely until you sit alone in the theater even if an incredibly strong power has been trying to pull you to the toilet for quite a few minutes. The kind of movie that leaves you completely blown away because it is simply and in all kinds of aspects perfect. The kind of movie that lets me love Villeneuve. The kind of movie that lets me love cinema.
