Interstellar

Is and always will be one of my favorites even with my ever growing and changing taste in movies. It delivers on all fronts with McConaughey at his career’s best, Christopher Nolan’s mind (possibly) at its best, a loaded supporting cast all giving great performances, and this rewatch confirmed to me that Hans Zimmer really created one of the greatest scores of all time for this movie. Even before they get to space and in Murph’s storyline this movie looks amazing, some of my favorite lighting and camera work ever from Nolan. Feels like an overly common take to praise this but rewatching it I still feel like I couldn’t praise it enough if I tried, an unforgettable movie that I basically know scene by scene at this point and it still leaves my jaw on the ground. “Do not go gentle into that good night; Old age should burn and rave at close of day. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”
