Adolescence
within 30 minutes of watching this i knew i was watching something incredible. the acting and cinematography alone blew me away, but each episode being one continuous shot had me on the edge of my seat, i didnt even realize i was holding my breath until the credits began to roll. besides the obvious artistry within this show, i applaud the topic of conversation it discussed. incel-based misogyny is utterly rampant within the younger generation of boys and men, it’s all but spoon fed into them the minute they get access to social media. the alpha male/red pill bullshit is one of the most harmful forms of media that exist in todays society, and a majority of social media platforms continue to allow these accounts to exist and post their harmful content knowing how impressionable and vulnerable these young men are. it’s exactly why that specific demographic is their their target audience, and it’s utterly pathetic. adolescence brought attention to some of social media’s biggest losers (andrw tte, adn rss, freh and ft podcast, and i’m sure i’ve missed a few) showing that just because your child is at home, doesn’t mean that they are safe from harm.
