> *Good old Spider-Man* A fun time! The jokes are funny, Tom Holland is great and I loved Michael Keaton. Keaton is definitely my favourite part about the movie. That entire sequence in the car with him and Peter is just so damn good. Peter's arc is the crux of this movie. His entire arc is him trying to be an Avenger and work for Stark, by the end of the movie he doesn't want to do that anymore. I don't think it works very well because his entire character revolves around another character instead of being his own. If the movie didn't have Stark it would work a lot better.

The main highlight of the movie is Jake Gyllenhall's Mysterio. The Mysterio illusion sequences was also something I really liked. Tom Holland was fine. Visually the movie is just not good, there are a few decent looking shots here and there but most of the time its just ugly. The humour is a downgrade from Homecoming. Homecoming was effortlessly funny but here it just doesn't feel that way. My main issue with Homecoming is still prevalent here being that it is too much about Iron Man. I understand what they were going for with Endgame and all but I just don't like it. A step down from Homecoming in every way.

I love what it has to say about queerness and the evil of conversation therapy. It is a very metaphorical film. The performances were fine with Joe Bird being my favourite. I think the character relationships should have been a bit more fleshed out. Good watch! [2026 Ranked](https://boxd.it/SDmfC)

The Odyssey feels so massive. Every set is huge, the production design is just amazing. Nolan's use of practical effects really shines here, pairing that with the cinematography of Hoyte van Hoytema creates something truly stunning. The film's sound design is also so damn good, hearing that cyclops scream was spectacular. Ludwig Göransson's score is so damn good, he further solidifies himself as one of the best composers working today. The performances are fine, Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway were the highlight for me. I saw many people disliking Tom Holland but I don't see it, I thought he did alright and made the most with what he was given. One thing which I didn't like about the movie was it's pacing, it just felt so off to me. At times it felt too quick. I also did not like the supporting characters. It is a film of such massive scale with such a large cast which causes most of the characters not getting enough screentime to actually explore them. I know it is Odysseus's journey and his story but I would have liked Nolan expanding the side characters a bit more so they don't feel so underdeveloped. Even with its issues The Odyssey was a really good watch and I am glad I got to see it in cinemas even if it wasn't imax. [2026 Ranked](https://boxd.it/SDmfC)
