‎A very interesting watch. ‎The anime is 13 episodes and has a varying cast of characters from episode to episode. The connecting factor between all the episodes is 'Shonen Bat' who is supposedly a kid going around and beating people up with a bat. Most of the anime is about how different people react to this Shonen Bat, it isn't about finding out who he is and catching him although we do get an answer to that in the final 2 episodes. ‎ ‎The anime is about how we cope when hardship hits us. Satoshi Kon takes us on a journey throughout which we meet a lot of different people who are facing some sort of problem in their life and are 'backed into a corner'. Shonen Bat offers a solution, he's an escape to your problems. He was created by Tsukiko as a coping mechanism to escape the consequences of her actions as we saw in the final episode. But if you persevere, you keep moving forward, you can defeat Shonen Bat. ‎ Satoshi Kon was a master at his craft and this further proves it.
