Begotten
a film abt a god abandoning man and the man abusing the Mother Nature and her rich resources (son of earth).. a religious allegory abt the death and rebirth of Christ and of Nature.. I genuinely think this film is a meticulous work of art, like you can't tell if it's ancient, or futuristic.. the gruesome imagery and general weirdness of the film is purposely to awoke lot of feelings, to discomfort you, and disturbed you, yet it's the highlighted charm of the film! I remember when I was young and saw one of the clips of God-killing-himself and thought it's from a dark web but this is such a strange, visceral and philosophical masterpiece that shouldn't be simply taken at face value.. it took me several times of watching to finally understand the film, and honestly? it's beautiful. i hope more ppl can appreciate this film rather than dumb it down as a generic disturbing snuff film or something.
