Apocalypse Now
I’m truly at a loss for words. The only one I can safely say is Masterpiece
I love films that encapsulate the journey of the human soul. And this is no doubt one of the greatest. The slow disintegration of morality and sanity as the soldiers sail deeper into the jungle is so captivating and terrifying. Every character introduced along the journey feels like another step down the stairs of human depravity. Until all that’s left are insane people screaming nonsense and poetry. The cinematography is obviously gorgeous (I especially love the gradual increase of darkness and fog), but what struck me as the most compelling was the sound design. I felt every explosion in my chest, each bullet was thunderous, and the helicopter blades were indescribable.
One of the greatest movie accomplishments I’ve ever witnessed.
Excited to see the documentary about the creation of this titan!
