One Battle After Another

best movie of 2025, it’s fun, intense, and never slows down once it gets going. sound design, the score, and the visuals were amazing. i was a huge fan of the off kilter piano keys that ramped up when shit got real. the performances were really good, Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, Teyana Taylor, and Leo were great and even Chase Infiniti was solid (also can’t forget about Avon Barksdale). there was just a ton of stuff going on and a lot to like about this film, Paul Thomas Anderson definitely did his thing here. the climax features one of the best chase scenes i’ve ever seen on the most cinematic road in existence, seriously this scene lived up to the hype it was awesome. my complaints with this movie are mostly with the comedy, at times it felt like it was trying too hard and i found that most jokes didn’t land for me. also i get that Christmas club thing was supposed to be ridiculous and symbolic but the whole thing came out of nowhere and felt like a cheap motive for Sean Penn’s character to be the bad guy. regardless this movie is an absolute banger.
