Ran

this movie was a lot of fun to watch, the story was amazing and i liked watching it unfold through the perspective of lord Hidetora. seeing his descent into “madness” as a result of his poor decision making and history as a war criminal coming back to haunt him was crazy. i love how he was not only mentally deteriorating but physically as well, by the end of the movie he looks like a living corpse that is stumbling through the hell that he has created for himself. this is made all the more interesting and hilarious with his little sidekick jester making fun of him the whole way through.  the scale of this movie was incredible, seeing all these people on screen and knowing that they are all real people was anazing, particularly in the battle scenes. lastly, the colors in this film were something out of a dream. especially the opening scene with the bright costumes and green/blue background. it felt like that image slowly melted away throughout the movie as the violence continued and things became darker, signifying the end of the “peace” that once was. overall it was a really fun watch with great characters and visuals.
