Nosferatu
HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT
Ok well, to get things out of the way:
Count Orlock? More like Count Orcock!!!!
And, this is the guy they let in SpongeBob??
Nicholas Hoult was so good I can’t even describe it. Dude has chops, and I mean CHOPS. Hoult is on a generational run right now, glad to say I’ve been a supporter since X-Men. Lily-Rose Depp was also amazing, this was my first time seeing her and it was a good one. Nosferatu. WILLEM DAFOE. WILLEM DAFOE. WILLEM GODDAMN DAFOE. Willem Dafoe actually did a great job. I really felt it in his soul and voice during his whole “burning the coffin” thing. Count Orlock. God, he was so great. First off, his makeup and effects were absolutely amazing. I absolutely laughed, however, when I saw he was wearing heels. But other than that, it was great. Skarsgård gave a great performance, he’s a MAJOR freak, though. Like genuinely, this movie was so freaky. Yet, it didn’t feel forced, it felt necessary for the plot, which is how I personally feel intimacy should be in movies, but that’s not a big deal to me. I went into this blind. Well, not blind, I knew it was a kind of “knock off Dracula,” but not much else. And boy, was I surprised. It was a pleasant surprise as well. The pacing was really good and it didn’t feel slow OR rushed, so major props to Eggers. The camera movement also felt really smooth. Anyways, those are most of my thoughts.
Another thing, and this has nothing to do with any of the team: THE AMC I WENT TO DIDN’T HAVE THE POPCORN BUCKET. I WANT THAT COFFIN BUCKET.
