Guy Richie makes movies for people who like Guy Richie movies and that is all. He’s got this incredible talent for giving characters that should have aura, no aura. One of these days, Henry Cavill will get into a movie with any sort of substance (next James Bond, please I beg you) Middest of mid movies 🥤: cherry vanilla Diet Coke

Finally got a proper rewatch in a theater after my first viewing was a car watch. Soundtrack (specifically the main title theme at beginning and end) is perfect. I didn’t remember like the entire romance plot so i watched with mostly fresh eyes, it’s fun and classic. I was also surprised in how much Val Kilmer *isn’t* here, I feel like he had so much cultural juice from being iceman but he was very much adjacent and never a forefront villain. Guess that’s just Val aura. Ps from Star Wars: One of the many reasons we can’t ever forgive Disney’s mishandling of Lucasfilm is because I watched every single second of the combat sequences in this movie, knowing that we were on the verge of seeing this with X-Wings and Tie Fighters but Hollywood refuses to do the right thing.

Ohhhhhhhh, you mean future Academy Award Nominee Inde Navarrette. Watched the whole third act with my hand over my eyes. Saucy, scary, & a wild ride. I could potentially drop to a 4.5 but coming out of the theater it’s sitting realllll high. 🥤: Root beer zero sugar

Chris Columbus kids movie bag work. Robin also bag work. That little girl from Matilda (Mara Wilson) childhood movie bag work, she prolly had her 3 bangers and retired. Silly but cute, & I can see why people love it. It’s got heart and the ending feels very ‘for kids’ in the best way. “Do you know what language they speak in England?” “Pakistani?”
