Interstellar

Rewatch, but first time in a theater-  Except in true imax. It was an all time great already, but after quite a while of not watching it…. to see it in this format was just mind blowing. Genuinely the best $15 I’ve ever spent.  Even during the sequences that are iconic and I know the ins and outs of, I cried. That’s not an entirely new thing with me and epic moments and movies (Ride of the Rohirrim, ROTK) but the sheer overwhelming force of nature that this movie is came through in such a fantastic way in IMAX. Nothing I need to say that hasn’t been said ab this movie before tho. It’s everything great about the art form, and so much more. Side note, Nolan has a very unique and individual way that he does his “explanation exposition” in terms of shooting, writing, and editing. Most of his films now share a small sequence which, aside from the exact nuances of the script and story, could be interchanged between movies, and the pacing would not be any different.
