The Thin Red Line
A war film more interested in curiosity and empathy.
So beautiful.
Battle scenes were top notch, cast is stacked, cinematography and score are elite. and this feels like Malick at his best. His strengths as a director elevate the film. I liked it a lot more than the other two I’ve seen from him, respectfully. Rewire your brain to be patient bc this is beautiful, and the pacing is slow, sure, but not dull.
ps directors need to start asking Zimmer for more melodic scores and not just the drones, bc he cooked here. Love everything he does, but the soft melody absolutely carries.
