Before Sunrise
adored this !!! :’) i didn’t really have a clear idea of what this movie was gonna look like going into it but it was much better and so much more simple than i anticipated? from what i’ve seen i thought this was gonna be ur typical romcom but it was way lovelier than that. just talking <3. i enjoyed it a LOT! these are the kind of conversations i want to have in life and truly truly enjoy. while watching you start forming your own opinions on the subjects they discuss and i love when a movie makes you do that. a lot of quotes in this movie stuck with me and it was so cool to hear that both ethan hawke & julie delpy heavily influenced the movies’ dialogue with their own worldviews! i wish i could attach a picture of my journal in which i wrote the quotes but,

“If there's any kind of magic in this world it must be in the attempt of understanding someone sharing something. I know, it's almost impossible to succeed but who cares really? The answer must be in the attempt.”
“I always feel this pressure of being a strong and independent icon of womanhood, and without making it look my whole life is revolving around some guy. But loving someone, and being loved means so much to me. We always make fun of it and stuff. But isn't everything we do in life a way to be loved a little more?”
“Why is it, that a dog, sleeping in the sun, is so beautiful, y'know, it is, it's beautiful, but a guy, standing at a bank machine, trying to take some money out, looks like a complete moron?”
“I don’t know, I think that if I could just accept the fact that my life is supposed to be difficult. to be expected, then I might not get so pissed-off about it and I'll just be glad when something nice happens.”
“It fascinates me how a single place can join so much pain and happiness of so many generations.”
“You need to resign yourself to the awkwardness of life. Only if you find peace within yourself will you find true connection with others.”
“When you talked earlier about after a few years how a couple would begin to hate each other by anticipating their reactions or getting tired of their mannerisms-I think it would be the opposite for me. I think I can really fall in love when I know everything about someone-the way he's going to part his hair, which shirt he's going to wear that day, knowing the exact story he'd tell in a given situation. I'm sure that's when I know I'm really in love.”

here they are! the quotes that stuck with me most.
a very romantic movie too. talking and as one would say, the attempt at understanding each other, is a love language in itself and one i really want to learn and share :’).
addition: the cutest scene which made me cheese was them pretending to call each others’ friends.
