this film was absolutely amazing to watch, especially in imax!! not only was the story and characters compelling but the shots were also stunning. also the soundtrack?? the CHORAL PIECES?? god what an amazing watch. i cant believe this movie had me burst into tears over a ROCK THREE TIMES. grace himself was a well written protagonist and the twist with grace’s coma was insane. 9/10!!

i may be a little high off an edible rn so i think that made me enjoy this movie 5000000x more than i shouldve but oh my god. i dont care. theyre both hot. i love food. DING DING DING. even though the humor is raunchy i LOVED it i dont care this movie is hilariously a 10/10 watch. representation? FIRE. the cameos? FIRE. the plot? FIRE. kumar and harold? FIRE pls do me next. UGH. 10/10

that one scene where they’re sitting on the dock watching the sunset and celine is saying “still there,” and once the sun is gone it just pans to both of them, 19 years later, and you can see how they’ve aged despite it all and are now stuck with eachother even in the darkest times. this was a very uncomfortable watch, but that was very much on purpose. i hate the idea that once you marry the love of your life, that love turns into bitterness with constant bickering and arguing; and people are like “no but you’ll make it up!” but its still.. uncomfortable? in the first movie, these two meet up and laugh softly at an older couple arguing; then cut to this one, now theyre the old couple arguing. throughout the two movies they have elaborate, meaningful conversations, but in this one? they’re arguing and looking back on the past as if they don’t have eachother in the present. of course married life isn’t perfect but they were arguing 35% of the movie! why are there so many jokes of sex like thats the best part of love and romance?? thats so sad :( but maybe the point is that despite their disagreements, they still come back for more. the idea that they’ll work it out in a fucked up way but are still contempt with the fact its “til death do us part.”

freaking amazing i cannot see my keyboard im crying this is absurd god help me the car ride scene is so heartbreakingly connecting. celine is such a well written character. *“you can never replace anyone because everyone is made up of such beautiful specific details.”* the people we meet in life will always shape us, whether we like that or not. even the smallest things can change someones life and the way they view things then on. celine is so beautifully written, showing in her anger, her humanity and her ability to voice her frustrations despite her constant hardships. you can tell the night in vienna changed both of their lives and despite trying to move on, regardless of how much older they get, they’ll forever dream of eachother and the “what ifs.” they’ve obviously changed, but the connection never severed, and the film captures that perfectly.
