Heat

There’s so much to like about this movie. I’ll start with the obligatory mentioning of the DoP, Dante Spinotti. This movie looks great. Every single shot is framed perfectly. This was my first Michael Mann film. I’ve heard so much about him and this movie specifically, so I’m thrilled they both lived up to their reputations. This is just an incredibly well-crafted movie. I’m not adding anything new to the conversation surrounding Heat but De Niro and Pacino are so damn good. And the entirety of the metal depository heist is some of the best filmmaking I’ve seen in a long time. PEAK. Perfect film.
