Before Sunset
“Baby, you are gonna miss that plane.”> “I know”Ok I watched this directly after I watched Before Sunrise and I am glad that I did. In my honest opinion, this installment is way better than its predecessor.
I really truly loved this movie. perhaps it was because they were older and a little less naive. I loved every part of their conversation this time around. the fact that they had 9 years of unknown history to unpack in a little under 2 hours made my heart ache. kudos to Ethan & Julie because I honestly forgot they were acting at times. throughout the film, their body language was so endearing and you could see the natural comfort they had from being around each other.
of course the big question of whether or not they met 6 months later at that train station was answered. and I’m honestly glad it was somewhat of the answer I expected. I will admit that I thought that neither of them would have shown up because life goes on to get in the way of plans like that. But knowing that Jesse was there, waiting for Celine really made me 😭😭😭
the love between these two is undeniable, I mean it really is remarkable to see them fall back into the way they were the first time they met 9 years prior. It was refreshing to have a story be as realistic as this one. I found myself wavering between rooting for them no matter what, and feeling bad that Jesse had a life back home. I truly didn’t want their conversation to end so I kept checking to see how much time was left in the film.
what makes this one so special is that they are older and wiser. some people may not like that about it; i’m sure that their youthful recklessness in the first film is what gets it so much love. but to me, this one is perfect.

The only problem I have with this installment is that it ends.
